Building bridges between silos.

The central belief of Dinesen Associates is that we can enhance insurance companies', asset managers' and individuals'  success by assisting bridge building between silos.

Insurance and capital markets have developed immensely in terms of size, geography, sophistication and importance to the overall economy. However these markets remain somewhat isolated from each other with few practitioners able to understand and leverage them in combination. One example of this silo effect has been the slow development in the transfer of insurance risk to the capital market. Another has been the comparatively low investability of the insurance sector, because it is not as well understood as other sectors.

In in area of corporate careers a silo effect can be seen in the management challenge that producers face when given their first, or increased, management responsibilities. This is is particularly evident in financial services where management is still often seen as a necessary evil and where organisations provide little or no support for the new producer manager.
